DSCF2183 Maurice MacLaren
Founding Director

Maurice brings to ClubHub a very strong management background from previous roles internationally including Business Development for Bankers Trust (NZ) and Managing Director of New England Foods (UK). In both roles he implemented management information systems to save costs and boost productivity. Whilst at Bankers Trust he co-founded InvestmentLink NZ Ltd which is a data transfer hub for financial institutions.

Maurice was prompted to create ClubHub when volunteering for his children’s football teams. He says “I was just amazed how much time it took to deliver basic club administration - processing forms, payments and mailing database, sorting players into teams and finding organisers for each team. I saw how people were giving up all their free time to do these things manually. Clubs were an obvious candidate for an effective online system so their volunteers could spend a lot less time on admin, and a lot more time on the park with their players, or at home with their families”.

Maurice has long been a keen club organiser, and has been on club committees since university. He is also a club based referee for his local soccer club, and takes time out when he can to play golf, ski, or kick a ball around the local park.

Duncan Stewart
Business Development Manager

A graduate of Glasgow University in Computer Science before making the move to New Zealand in 2002, Duncan works closely with clients of ClubHub to ensure they receive close ongoing support, and to help them to fine-tune and implement the service so that it most directly meets their needs.

Duncan is a keen golfer (when weather permits), and also loves mountain biking, snowboarding and playing football. “I will take any excuse to get out of the city whenever possible and am probably happiest blasting (I wish…) down the slopes around Queenstown,” he says. “It’s great to be a part of ClubHub and providing a product that people find extremely useful, and an ongoing service relationship that they genuinely appreciate.”
